My Girl All Grown Up

Allison Taylor went to kindergarten yesterday. It was emotional for me. Moreso than when Dani went. I was so happy when she went, and it is bittersweet for me with Alli leaving. She has always needed me a little more than Dani ever did, so I think that is why it is harder for me to see her go......Wow I actually just had a flash forward to 13 years from now when she is going away for real. To college or something. Our luck, she will want to be a tattoo artist or something.

I have been running again. I hate running, but I am a huge fan of feeling good about myself, so there you have it. It is a lot of work running with a double jogger especially when the wind is blowing because the stroller catches the wind like the sail of a ship and attempts to pull me in the opposite direction. I am allowing myself to walk some of the time too. I usually dont, but in light of the 70lbs I am pushing, I deserve a walk every now and again.

I have a big hula show this weekend and am very excited about it. I love big shows with the band. This is especially fun because we get to dance throughout the crowd. Yeah!

A special event

We had the honor of witnessing a very special time in the lives of our dear friends the Richardsons. Jeremy adopted Jaidah and it was beautiful. I love to see God working and if ever there was a great example of that, the Richardsons are those people with their eyes on God and faith in Him. I nearly missed it as I was running late to the courthouse, but praise God I did make it there on time to get a few important pics. We went to DQ afterwards to celebrate and the kids appreciated that. On a side note, the girls look so much alike, that they could very well be mistaken as sisters and that would be ok with me. Hasta!

Famous Daves

We went to this restaurant for Bub's 26th birthday. Yep, he is gettin old. The food was amazing and I really enjoyed the time with my family. I hope we can make this a monthly tradition. It was fun to hear memories that different family members held dear in their heart. Things I wouldnt have thought of.

On a seperate note, I had a dream the other night about Chris getting back into the air force. For those of you who dont know me well, I have very detailed dreams. We were being stationed in France and the airport was several hours from the base, so we had to drive a long ways north to get there. When we arrived, the base housing was really nice. I remember feeling really secure that he was back in the service and our medical would be taken care of for the rest of our lives, but also a sad feeling becuase I knew that he would probably have to deploy and I would be alone with the kids in a foreign country. Come on, I would be in Europe, what was I thinking?

Seperating the ladies from the women

I got this from a friends web page, hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Ladies - If you accidentally over-salt a dish while it's still cooking, drop in a peeled potato and it will absorb the excess salt for an instant "fix-me-up.
"Real Women - If you over-salt a dish while you are cooking, that's too damn bad. Please recite with me, The Real Women's motto: "I made it and you will eat it and I don't care how bad it tastes."---

Ladies - Cure for headaches: Take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away.
Real Women - Take a lime, mix it with tequila, chill and drink. You might still have the headache, but who cares?---

Ladies - Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent ice cream drips.
Real Women - Just suck the ice cream out of the bottom of the cone, for Pete's sake. You're probably lying on the couch, with your feet up, eating it anyway.---

Ladies - To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes.
Real Women - Buy boxed mashed potato mix and keep it in the pantry for up to a year.---

Ladies - When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking pan, use a bit of the dry cake mix instead and there won't be any white mess on the inside of the cake.
Real Women - Go to the bakery - they'll even decorate it for you.---

Ladies - Brush some beaten egg white over pie crust before baking to yield a beautiful glossy finish.
Real Women - Directions on Sara Lee frozen pies don't include brushing egg whites over the crust, so I just don't do it.---

Ladies - If you have a problem opening jars, try using latex dish washing gloves. They give a non slip grip that makes opening jars easy.
Real Women - Go ask the very cute neighbor guy to do it.---

And finally, the most important tip
Ladies - Don't throw out all that leftover wine. Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces.
Real Women - Leftover wine??!?!?!

Why Pink Hair?

So some of you may ask why pink hair? Why the heck not? I love it. If she would have had purple dye, it would have been that color. It is fun, it is new and it helps me to remember not to care about what anyone thinks. I thought about it while I was having it done and realized that if I was a career woman or something like that I wouldnt be able to have fun colored hair. Praise God for the season and circumstance of my life. I will totally let the girls do this (when they are about 16 or so) if they want to. I have never felt more like "myself" since having my hair done. Fun! I figure that as long as I am not causing anyone to stumble, I am good to go!
I read 1 John 3 this morning and it was sure encouraging.
6 No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.
9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.
These are so powerful. I wonder if my friends who have "fallen away" ever really knew my God. Or did they really "fall away". ARe they conintuing to sin? Big stuff to wrap my mind around. Have a great day!
