Tidbits

It is a beautiful morning and I am enjoying the sunshine. I love to open the drapes first thing in the morning and see what it looks like outside. I base my motivation of working out on whether or not it is raining and/or windy. This morning I did not want to get out of bed. Chris said that it was not windy, but when I looked out the window I saw my telling tree waving in the breeze. HAH, a ticket back into the bed for another hour of non sleep. Non sleep is what you do when you get back in bed and attempt to sleep, get interrupted by a child and settle for laying there in the dark.
I feel the best about my body in the morning. I have a theroy of my own. Not only have I been fasting for the last 10 hours, but also I think gravity has been working in my favor. While I am laying horizontal all of the weight (and fat if you will) is evenly dispersed. I look great in the mirror especially for the first couple hours.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm annoying, and then I remember...Nope, I'm just awesome.

The girls turn 2

My step brother Adam and his wife Nicci have one daughter Jazlyn and one on the way. There are some pics from her second birthday. Lou was comepletely enthralled with the Chuck E. Cheese dancing characters. She was paused in time to watch them. She would start to dance a bit and then just sway to the music. Jazlyn was born on Lou's actual due date. I remember being upset at Lou for not coming out when she was supposed to. But when she came, she was out from an hour after arriving at the hospital and was known as the baby who came fast and furious. She loves her cake and eats it too. I have also included a picture of Lou with the blankie. My mom and i have come commonly refer to the blankie sucking finger time as Weasle Eyes. She looks like a little weasle when she has the blankie to her face and all you see are her precious little eyes. So, happy birthday girls! You are so cute.

Goin Down Swingin'

So, this is my brother and future sister in law Ashley. She is petite, but fiesty. This weekend some girls took her purse and phone and essentially mugged her. She chased after them ,yelling a few choice words, got punched and then proceeded to beat the piss out of them. Now let me educate you a little on Ash. She is just a little bit "selective" on her friends. Some may call is racist. This little incident did not help her as now she is even more convinced that her racist beliefs are true. What can I say though her assumptions were true? All this to say , yeah Ash, you go Girl!

Apples and Wine

Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they sometimes take the apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy. The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who is brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree. Now Men.... Men are like a fine wine. They begin as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp the crap out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.I took this from a friends blog. apple tree I thought it was great. I hope you like it too.

Stupid People

You can't fix stupid!
pregnant britney smoking
I came across this photo a while back when taking one of those photo surveys. I think it is awful and hilarious all at the same time. When did our priorities get so out of whack? I was running this morning ( I know, shocker huh?) and really just thanking God. Have you been up lately at 6am and witnessed the beauty that he put out there for you to look at? It is a new and different canvas for you to enjoy eadch morning. It is truly a gift and I highly encourage you to recieve it one morning. I have been using that time to truly talk to God, pray and just listen to Him. I encourage you to make time for Him! So worth it.

So, like most women I dont like the way I look. I know, big surprise. I have been running at 6am and it is absolutely beautiful. It was a crazy day yesterday. I had MOPS in the morning, watched girls all day, cleaned the closet, cooked dinner, went to hula, watched two of the funniest shows ever....The Office and Scrubs. The Officescrubs We didnt used to be into this kind of humor and now it is the only thing that makes us laugh that hard. So I came to the realization that I did not have any pictures of my brother recently, so I hacked some of his photos from myspace and am doing an ode to him. Love you Bub!

Sharefest 08

Our care group signed up to do a group project last month and we completed that yesterday. We had a pretty good turn out of 8 people to do some projects for people who could not. This was a family event, so even the kids we serving. The ladies and kids raked 10 bags of pine needles from the font yard and primed some of the house. The men prepped the house for painting and put up a shed. One guy from our group got the paint donated from Sherwin Williams and the paint duties donated from some professionals that he knows. Praise God! We spent the evening at Mike's house and had a BBQ and enjoyed sharing more in each other's lives. The girls slept well and so did we. It was beautiful weather here in the Tri, one of those days that make you think that you live in the best kept secret of the US. 75 degrees and blue skies.

The New Group

We had a retreat for our new care group last month and it was a blast. We did a photo scavenger hunt and stayed up late into the night playing spoons and hee hawing. Good times, good times. Here are some of the pics from that. We rented out a local bed and breakfast called Cabin Suites for the night so that we did not have to go out of town and spend a bunch of money. To the left is a picture of Jeremy getting into the tanning bed as one of his tasks. The girls were sneaky and told him he had to be completely naked for this task (even though that was not the case). He was happy to oblige after everyone left the room. This is a picture of my brother in law Udiel getting his eyebrows waxed. We all joked that he really needed it! The pic of the guy hee hawing is Matt. I never thought I would see that becuase he has an incredible amount of reach, but he lost and he had to do the BURRO task. He was a good sport about it and hee hawed around midnight. WE each contributed to the food that weekend too. The Ramirezes, Richardsons and Littrells did dinner. We made carne asada, chicken enchaladas, salad, chips, salsa and fresh tortillas from atomic foods. Mike, Carlye and the Garzas handled snacks. And the Gundersons and Horsts handled breakfast. This was a weekend of induldgence. Just for the record, Tiffany is a card shark. She is so amazingly fast that it is difficut to keep up with her. Here are some more pics from our night and hee hawing. I never thought Abner (below) would heehaw because he is the one that brought this game to the group. The king of SPOONS.

Good Mommy Day

It is the last day of spring break and I wanted to make it a good one for the girls so we did several fun things. The first was that we went to a yard sale and let them each get something. Dani chose a mumu, Alli a McDonalds toy and Lou a toy as well. It was fun. I found a treasure too. I have been looking for a window pane to stain and distress for decoration. Wouldnt you know that they had one for only a dollar. I was highly pleased and carted it off right away before anyone else snatched it. Next we went to the bread outlet and got a couple loaves. One for our family and another to feed the ducks. The lady at the front counter was amazing and gave us yet another loaf, so we had more to feed ducks. Just so you know, the ducks dined on white bread because we dont buy that for the girls.
So, we get to the pond and the geese immediately come up and start hissing for food. Have you ever heard a goose hiss. It is not plesant! We scurried around the pond to where the birds seem much more tame and easy going. Dani took a picture of Lou and I so I too could be in a photo. The girls had so much fun! Lou said feed duck more. They all agreed that we should go back another day real soon. Also, for all of you westsiders, the background in those pics is real. That is right, real blue skies, sunny days. Wanna move over yet? So, all that said, it has been a good mommy day!

First Time Blog

This is the home that we stayed at in Lake Cavanaugh. The Eckerts lined this up for us with a very minimal cost per couple. It was a great experience. I have read and enjoyed enough blogs from friends, so I thought I would start one for our family. That way, the west siders could keep up with us even though we are 250 miles away. Here are some fun pics from our retreat with them last month. We met at Lake Cavanaugh about 30 minutes outside of Arlington. We set up late playing Settlers of Catan and talking. Many of them(not me) got heavily involved in DDR (dance dance revolution). Even our prego friend played. I loved being with these people. We threw a surprise baby shower for Karla (who is having a girl) and it was truly beautiful. Melissa is a geunius at hostess.

We also had fun firing the potato gun thanks to Craig and Jen. We were trying to make holes in the ice. Good times. Chris and I had some much needed time for the Chris and Jaimie Show. That is what I have come to commonly refer to in regards to our relationship. We had not been away for a while. We had a wine bar too. Chris and I thought it would be funny to bring a box of wine instead of a bottle becuase out of the group Chris and I are the most white trash. More on that later.
